Recently I started doing embroidery after becoming mesmerized by videos on Pinterest. I went to Michael’s the very next day and bought hoops, fabric, floss, and needles and taught myself simple stitches from YouTube videos. Not only is it relaxing and pretty simple, it’s a great way to upcycle clothing and keep my clothing waste down. I started my own Instagram and a small embroidery business to help others upcycle their clothing to reduce the amount of waste we produce from discarded clothing. Fabric and fashion waste is the second largest polluter in the world, and by making small steps to reduce or waste and revamp clothing we already own, we are working to help reduce the pollution caused by the fashion industry.
