If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent the last few months wondering, dreaming, and hoping for Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy announcement.  There was a lot of speculation for a while and a lot of inside sources leaking information, but nothing from Kylie herself.  Like many people, I often tell myself and others that I do not care about the Kardashian-Jenner empire. I don’t care who they are dating, what they are wearing, or which magazine they are on the cover of this week.  This is all a lie.  I do care, much more than I would like to.  There is just something about this family that draws me in and I constantly find myself, yet again, invested in their lives.

So, naturally, when I heard that not one, not two, but THREE of the daughters were expecting children, I was filled with a whirlwind of joy, curiosity, and hunger for more details.  Kim K. revealed she was expecting via surrogate a while back, then Khloe let us in on her emotional journey to finally getting the family she’s always wanted, but there was still no word from Kylie.  For a while, I went back and forth on my thoughts on the situation.  At first I was thinking, if she wasn’t pregnant, why would she just let everyone think she was and not deny anything?  So, of course, she had to be pregnant since she never shut down the rumors.  Then, I was thinking, well, if she is not pregnant, this would be a great way to put this family at the center of all the Hollywood gossip and she could be using this as publicity.

I spent many nights searching the internet for theories, looking dissecting everyone’s social media posts, and debating with friends about whether she was expecting or not.  Why did I care so much?  I don’t know these people, yet, I can’t stay out of their lives.  This is just what happens when people put their entire lives on reality TV shows, social media, talk shows, and magazines- we get obsessed.  We feel like we know them because it seems like we know everything about them.  That’s why when something like this Kylie Jenner pregnancy thing happens, we feel left out not knowing.  We feel like we deserve to know, like they owe it to us to let us in on everything! (They don’t actually have to by the way—it’s their own lives and they can do what they want).

This is why, on February 4th, when Kylie finally let us all know for sure what we have been curious about for months, we went crazy.  We all knew it, but that confirmation somehow was still a surprise.  She was actually pregnant!  She gave birth to a little girl on February 1st and fans went crazy!  She is now the proud owner of the most liked photo on Instagram and that is not something that would have happened if no one cared.  We all secretly care a tiny bit, but maybe some of us just don’t want to admit it.  We love the gossip, rumors, and dirty little secrets that surround all these Hollywood stars.  I might know more about the Kardashian-Jenner family than I do my own family, but I guess that’s what people get when their names are in lights.  Now that we all know, I guess the only thing left to say is, welcome to the world, Stormi Webster, you’re in for a wild ride.
