The Stages of Senior Year: Parks and Rec Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JCU chapter.

Having only been back at JCU for about a month, I am already experiencing the many things that go through the mind during one’s senior year of college. What better way to explain the stages of senioritis than through the beloved “Parks and Recreation?”

1. The calm before the storm — at the beginning of the year everything’s fine and nothing hurts

2. Panic slowly starts to creep in as you realize you won’t be returning next year

3. Realizing that you still have time to enjoy the year and cherish the time left with your friends

4. Getting in the job search mindset — it’s time to network!

5. Watching the people around you slowly start to figure out their lives

6. Applying to jobs left and right because you just want to get hired

7. Packing in the interviews like a champ, making you feel both exhausted and successful already

8. Figuring out your plans just in time to celebrate

9. Contemplating staying here so you can be in college with your friends forever

10. Realizing you still have to put effort into your classes so you can graduate

11. Living out your last days of the semester to the fullest because you’ve earned your degree
