Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is officially time for Christmas music!! As a rule, I find that most Christmas songs are great, because they are about Christmas. But unfortunately, there are some absolutely terrible Christmas songs in my opinion. Here they are:
- “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” — Do I even need to explain this? So annoying. So so so so annoying.
- “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” — Ugh. Just creepy. I get that Santa Claus is the dad or whatever, but like, this is just an unnecessary addition to the world.
- “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” — Also so annoying. The grandmother is dead!!!! How is that holiday cheer?? It’s not funny!
- “Santa, Baby” — Here’s another creepy one… This is maybe the worst. I despise this song.
- “Last Christmas” — Oh boy. I get that popular singers like to come up with new and original Christmas songs, and Lord knows this world needed “All I Want for Christmas is You” but this one is booooooring.
- “Do You Hear What I Hear?” — This one might be a classic, but I’m always just like “Yes, we hear it. You can stop anytime. We get it. You have full use of all your senses. I’m happy for you. No one cares.”
- “12 Days of Christmas” — I mean, this one isn’t that bad but it’s just so repetitive… And not particularly catchy. I far prefer Straight No Chaser’s version.
- “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” — Ugh, Lame. And it just gets stuck in your head, you know? “My two front teeth, my two front teeth, see my two front teeth, blah blah blahhh.”
- “Good King Wenceslas” — What even is this song, truly? Why does this exist? What does it mean???? How do you even pronounce this????
