If you’re worried that going home for spring break and not someplace tropical is not going to be fun, don’t worry. You can make any destination the ideal spring break.
1. Napping – So much napping. This one is self explanatory
2. Catching up on Netflix – Personally, I have so many shows sitting in my “to watch” list across a few networks. If you haven’t had time to catch up with everything going on at school, now’s your chance in the comfort of your own home.
3. Going to your home grocery store – Nothing really says welcome home none other than a grocery store you are familiar with. While the store near campus may feel more familiar after time, there’s no better feeling than knowing exactly where everything is in terms of brands of foods you enjoy. Bonus perk: it does not consist of cafeteria food.
4. Winter fun – If you live in the northeast, then you just experienced Winter Storm Riley overnight. The nice weather this past week was too good to be true, but if you’re home you have extra time to get in some last minute winter sports! There’s still time left for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating, and even building a snowman.
5. Catch up on school work – Between napping, Netflix, and seeing Snapchats of people on break elsewhere, just know that you have the satisfaction of getting ahead of the game in terms of schoolwork. You’ll feel a lot better coming back to school knowing you aren’t behind
6. Explore your hometown more – If you’ve seen places in your hometown that you’ve always wanted to go to, but never had the time, now’s your chance! Grab a friend and go get brunch at a local restaurant, get work done at a coffee shop you’ve never been to, wander some art museums, you name it.
7. Focus on you – Break is about taking time off, not overloading your schedule. Take the time to catch up on sleep, eat some good food, and relax before entering the next half of the semester. Breaks go by quickly, so enjoy the time you have to de-stress from school. :)
