13 Halloween Movies You Must Watch

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JCU chapter.

Everyone has their own Halloween tradition, but watching great Halloween movies with a group of your closet friends is a tradition that everyone should try. While there are plenty of Halloween movies out there, these 13 are totally Netflix binge-worthy. So grab your popcorn (or maybe a pillow to hide your face in) and enjoy!

1. Nightmare Before Christmas

How could this movie be any better? It covers the two best holidays!

2. Hocus Pocus

It’ll put a spell on you.

3. Sleepy Hollow

It HAS to be the one with Johnny Depp though or it doesn’t count.

4. Halloweentown

Watch all of them. Go big or go home.

5. GHOSTBUSTERS

Who you gonna call?!

6. Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire

Personally, I think this would be kinda cool.

7. Paranormal Activity

They are super cheesy, but they are good for a laugh between actual horror movies.

8. Friday the 13th

It was a killer movie in the 80’s. Get it? Killer? Ha.

9. The Addam’s Family

“When we’re together, darling, every night is Halloween.”

10. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

….I got a rock

11. Sinister

Bring on sleepless nights and nightmares.

12. The Conjuring

It’s the nightmares that your nightmares have.

13. Nightmare on Elm Street

Close it off with a classic. Who doesn’t love Freddy and his striped sweater?

Hello there! I am a sophomore at John Carroll University. I am majoring in Sociology with a double minor in Engish and Peace, Justice, and Human Rights so I stay pretty busy. I someday hope to go into Social Work and then go on to help end the stigma associated with mental health. I am a proud Kappa Delta and will often be sporting my letters. You will either find me singing songs from Frozen on the KD floor, in the library, or grabbing a quick decaf coffee before class.
Brittany, a Senior at JCU, has a passion for tea, books, writing, and London. As an English major, you can usually find her curled up with a good book somewhere on-campus (usually in O'Malley). She loves everything about Her Campus, and she finds it extremely exciting and rewarding to be a Campus Correspondent!
