Meet Josh Robinson

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jax State chapter.

After attending college at JSU where he was an Orientation Coordinator, Campus Tour Guide, and Graduate Assistant, Josh took on the role of Assistant Dean of Students- Fraternity and Sorority Life in January of 2017. Diving in head first, Josh turned Fraternity and Sorority Life completely around. Take a look at what Josh has to say about his experiences with Formal Recruitment this summer!

Q: What was the hardest part of Recruitment?

A: The most challenging part of sorority recruitment was explaining the difference between JSU policy and NPC policy. Although we always abide by NPC policy and unanimous agreements, it is challenging when we cannot be flexible to accommodate our students.

Q: What was the best part of Recruitment?

A: The best part of sorority recruitment was helping women find their sorority. It was extremely rewarding to help students find an organization that will do for them what my fraternity did for me. I truly believe that fraternities and sororities add value to the college experience and I am grateful that I get the opportunity to share that each and every day.

Q: What do you like the most about your job?

A: The best parts of my job are the students that I work with. These students want to make a positive difference within our university and within their organizations. I am amazed at what they accomplish each year and that they always seem to out-do themselves. I genuinely enjoy working with all them and could not ask for better people to work with.

Q: Do you have any memories that are special to you from your days as a member of Pi Kappa Phi?

A: The best memories that I have from my fraternity are Homecoming Week and Greek Week. It was great meeting new people and organizations and learning from everyone. It was especially fun during the unstructured times when everyone could just be themselves and didn’t have to worry about getting a job finished.

Although Josh hasn’t been in his position long, the difference he has already made for Fraterity and Sorority life is incredible! Be sure to stop by the Theron Montgomery Building and get to know Josh!
