- Release Me by Tahereh Mafi, releasing April 7!
Enjoyed the Shatter Me series? Last year, Tahereh Mafi released Watch Me, which is a spin-off of the Shatter Me series with Aaron’s younger brother, James. Watch Me and Release Me follows James and a new female character named Rosabelle. While its focus is on James and Rosabelle, you get glimpses of the original characters, Juliette and Warner! I, personally, am more than ready to see more of Aaron Warner.
- Rites of the Starling by Devney Perry, releasing April 7!
Contemporary author Devney Perry took the fantasy world by storm last year when she published Shield of Sparrows, an epic romantasy that I devoured in just one night! Fans of From Blood and Ash and Fourth Wing will eat this up! She’s publishing this sequel less than a year later!
- The Tempest Blade by Danielle L. Jensen, releasing April 14!
The sixth book in The Bridge Kingdom series, The Tempest Blade, is filled with forbidden love and the wrong brother trope, with glimpses of the couples from the first four books! If you haven’t read The Bridge Kingdom yet, pick it up right now!! The first book was cemented in my favorite series list by the end.
- Broken Dove by Dani Francis, releasing May 12!
Last year, Dani Francis took over Booktok with this dystopian enemies-to-lovers romance! Silver Elite took my breath away, and I enjoyed the high-stakes fast pace, along with the crazy plot twist at the end! It was an immediate four-star read for me, and I can’t wait to see where this sequel goes.
- Adversary to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, releasing August 4!
Hannah Nicole Maehrer’s Assistant to the Villain series follows the journey of Evie Sage, who takes a job as the assistant to the most infamous villain in the land. It is extremely hilarious and has a bunch of fun, lovable characters.
- The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig, releasing September 1!
Rachel Gillig created a name for herself in fantasy medieval romance with her duology, One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns. Her last book, The Knight and the Moth, solidified her place! Filled with mystery and featuring a dark, handsome knight, the book had me hooked until the last page! Bonus: a great album to listen to while reading these books is “Everybody Scream” by Florence + the Machine!
- Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo, September 15
LEIGH!!! I can’t express how excited I am that she is publishing another book. Author of the Shadow and Bone series and Six of Crows duology, Leigh and her books are a staple in the fantasy genre! She released Ninth House, the first book in this series, which was published in 2019, and the sequel Hell Bent, published in 2023, follow Alex Stern as she looks into mysterious and secret Yale societies. Leigh surprised readers by revealing that the conclusion to this series, Dead Beat, was coming out this year!
- Empire by Sabaa Tahir September 22
IF YOU HAVEN’T READ AN EMBER IN THE ASHES SERIES, STOP READING THIS ARTICLE AND GO DO IT! The series is five stars for me. Originally set in an academy setting (my kryptonite), a spy falls for the empire’s best soldier. (Screams!) In 2024, she released Heir, which follows the next generation of characters while featuring some of the originals.
Bonus:
- Elena Armas, author of The Spanish Love Deception, The Long Game, and several other contemporary romance novels, is stepping out of her comfort zone and is releasing a new book that is part of a brand-new supernatural series! On November 17, readers will get this new novel, Alma Vampires.
