Puddles, Precipitation, and Pretty Voluminous Hair

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

WINTER IS OVER!

And, of course, you know what’s coming – summer, and sun, and all things hot

…but first we have to make it through spring. And they call our school IUP for a reason: It Usually Precipitates. Which means during the next month or so, you’ll somehow need to survive waking up early for class on dreary days, taming the inevitable frizzy hair, and walking across campus in a suprise rainstorm.

Which is where we come in! Here’s a list of must-haves for this spring:

1. Rain boots. Running all the way across campus in your cloth Vans is not going to cut it when it rained last night and there are now puddles everywhere. These puppies shouldn’t cost too much at Payless or Walmart, and are even available in cute styles – definitely a good investment for your cute & practical wardrobe.

2. Umbrella. You definitely don’t want your hair getting messed up by whatever Mother Nature decides to drop to earth, so pick one of these up at the Co-op store, or almost any general store off-campus, to avoid the drowned rat look.

3. Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum – $5. This product is great for taming the uncontrollable frizzy hair on humid days – just apply a dime-sized amount on your palm, rub your hands together, and run through the length of your hair.

4. Rain coat. When the wind blows, there’s no guarantee that your clothes won’t get wet underneath the umbrella from the driving rain – cover that outfit up with a waterproof jacket!

Make sure you’re prepared for everything this spring’s weather might throw at us!
