Being in college requires an endless amount of multitasking. Because of this, it can be hard to focus on one thing at a time- we are so accustomed to juggling notes, studying, essays, and endless other assignments. We’ve been told over and over that kids our age just can’t focus and as annoying as it is to hear, it’s true.

I’ve found instrumental music helps me to get into that deep focus needed for studying. If I listen to my regular playlist, I get too caught up in the lyrics of my favorite songs; the instrumentals of my favorite songs still have me singing the lyrics in my head. So I did some quick Spotify and YouTube searches and it wasn’t hard to find study-focused playlists. Here are some of my favorites!

Lofi Hip Hop

This playlist is super relaxing with added bass and hi-hats. It’s perfect for reading notes or going through notecards!

lofi fruits

I like this playlist because it remixes popular songs in a really interesting way. It’s great for listening when you’re getting organized or reviewing your work.

4 Hour ambient music

I have played this one so many times and before I know it, the video is over and I can’t believe I just spent 4 hours reading. It is unbelievably calming and quiets the mind.

cozy fall coffee shop

I really love listening to seasonal playlists. It’s so cozy and puts you in that state of mind where the season is exciting and fresh. It’s a great way to refresh you and your mind when studying!
