Food For Thought

Much like your average college student, I have a pretty packed schedule. Between classes, work, and extracurriculars, I feel like I don’t have time to do much of anything, let alone prepare a meal.

So I embarked on a long quest to find the PERFECT study snack. I was looking for two things: convenience and nutrition.

Here’s what I came up with:

Crackers
Crackers!

Crackers are a really versatile snack. You can pair them with all sorts of different spreads: peanut butter, hummus, cream cheese…the list goes on. Unfortunately, they’re not always very practical. If I’m not being careful, they just get crushed in my backpack.

Fruit
Berries

I. Love. Fruit. It’s delicious AND nutritious. The only major downside is my own forgetfulness. Unearthing a bag of moldy grapes from my backpack was a very unpleasant surprise.

Granola
Granola

Granola is one of my all-time favorite snacks. It’s quick and easy to grab a handful and walk out the door, but not so much out and about. Unless of course, you have no problem feeling like a crumbly mess.

Protein bars
Quest Protein Bars

Protein bars are the epitome of snacktime convenience. There are all sorts of brands and flavors to try (mint chocolate chunk Quest bars are a personal favorite) but they can be very calorie-dense. I’d end up eating one in the mid-afternoon and not be hungry enough for dinner later.
