We’re coming up on the release of Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl! It is set to drop on October 3, 2025 with just twelve songs. Produced with Max Martin and Shellback, who she also collaborated with on Red, 1989, and Reputation (all bangers, so you know this one will be one, too!). Taylor recorded this album during her Eras Tour, flying back to Sweden in between shows.

August 13: Taylor releases the first, original cover for The Life of a Showgirl, featuring her laying nearly completely submerged in water, just her face peeking above. It’s a nod to the first song and single on the album, “The Fate of Ophelia”, referencing Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
August 13: Taylor releases the first CD variant: “It’s Frightening” Limited Release Deluxe CD, available for only 72 hours.
August 13: Taylor releases her second CD variant: “It’s Rapturous” Limited Release Deluxe CD, available for 72 hours.

August 25: Taylor releases vinyl variants: “The Tiny Bubbles in Champagne” Vinyl Collection, available for 48 hours, in two variants: “Under Bright Lights Pearlescent” vinyl and “Red Lipstick and Lace Transparent” vinyl.
September 24: Taylor releases vinyl variant: “The Crowd is Your King” Edition on “Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer Vinyl” available at target while supplies last.
There is also an Official Release Party of a Showgirl that will occur October 3 – October 5 in theatres. Taylor herself described it on her Instagram as, “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single “The Fate of Ophelia”, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl”.
