It’s getting to that time of year again! The trees are changing color, it’s (hopefully) getting colder soon, and we need something to binge-watch. I feel like fall is the best time to start a show, there are fewer outdoor activities going on, school is getting stressful, and sometimes the best way to decompress after studying for midterms and writing a ten-page essay is to get cozy and watch a comfort show. If you are like me, you watch the same 5 shows over and over again because it’s just good background noise, but sometimes we need to branch out, even in small ways.
GIlmore Girls
I’m gonna start with a classic: Gilmore Girls. This is THE fall show. Season one starts out in October in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, giving it the most fall vibe possible. Gilmore Girls is good for people who like drama, but also comedy. Trust there is falling in love, heartbreak, family drama, but there’s also tons of witty conversation and funny plot lines that keep it light-hearted. This has always been a favorite of mine, and is so nostalgic because I would watch this with my older sister growing up.Â
The Haunting of Hill House
Another good one is The Haunting of Hill House. This is for people who like it a little spookier. I haven’t finished this show yet, but I have been loving it so far. It has a very dark and moody vibe, and a scary yet interesting storyline that will keep you hooked.
Only Murders in the Building
Only Murders in the Building has been my Mom’s favorite show for years now, and it is such a fun watch. It incorporates mystery, drama, and comedy with three famous actors that people already know and love: Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. This show is perfect for watching with your friends on a chill night in or binge-watching on your day off.
psych
My last recommendation is Psych. This show isn’t necessarily fall-themed, but it is so fun to binge-watch. I personally think this show got me through my senior year of high school, which was truly some dark times, so it really was nice for me to just relax, watch Psych, and hang out with my family.
