Maybe it’s the gift giving, the cozy vibes, or the emphasis on spending time with your special ones this time of year, but everyone seems to be in their feels a little more than usual this time of year. Whatever it is about the holiday season that makes us all love “love” more, we need music to match our vibes. Not everyone has true love right now. Take a look at this list of Taylor Swift songs that includes a relatable bop for whatever type of love it is you’re experiencing this year.

Early Love — “Delicate” (2017)

This song does a wonderful job at romanticizing the early stages of a relationship, where feelings are rushing in all directions and both love birds aren’t sure how fast is too fast. Listen to this if you need to relate to another in this rocky, awkward, but romantic stage of a relationship, where so many questions are still unanswered.

Ugly Love — “Cruel Summer” (2019)

Not sure how to address your relationship? What are you guys? This song explains the difficulties one can face when they have all the feelings for a special someone, but aren’t quite sure where they lie with their mysterious and intriguing new lover.

One-sided Love — “Say Don’t Go” (2023)

If you fall under this category, I apologize, regardless of what side of the “one sided love” you’re on. This song is for the lover of the broken duo. Listen to this in your room — alone — and let your heart clear itself out with this beautifully painful song. I bet it’ll soon become one of your favorites, and a staple of your healing journey!

Dying Love — “Champagne Problems” (2020)

Here’s a song for when the end of your relationship is inevitable, but nonetheless painful. Maybe you’ll relate to Taylor, and know that the one you’re leaving will find someone that heals them one day. Or, maybe you’re Joe, and can relate to an ex caring for you, but still being unable to provide for you in the way that you deserve. I hope this song helps you come to terms!

Broken Love —“All Too Well, 10 minute version” (2021)

When I first heard this song, I instantly became obsessed. Never before had I heard a song that explains a heart break so well. Listen to this if you’re suffering a break up — you’ll be sure to find comfort in Taylor’s words, where she makes it clear that the pain we suffer when young and naive is not because of our faults, but because we are innocently (and rightfully) giving all we can to a relationship we believe in. The ten minute version has everything a song needs for it to resonate with someone and let the emotions flow!

Simple Love — “Sweet Nothing” (2022)

Maybe your relationship is simple and sweet. In some ways, that’s the perfect type for this time of year— no intensity, no hassle. Listen to this to better understand the depth of your relationship and what that means to you. This song highlights the elegance of an unproblematic, gentle love.

True Love — “Evermore” (2020)

Let’s end on a positive note! This is one of my favorite Taylor songs because of how beautifully it describes a genuine, healthy love. Tune in when alone, or with your special partner, to fall deeper for your romance this holiday season.

Self Love — ME! (2019)

You’ve got it all. Know it and show it! This song is both enlightening and empowering. Love yourself a little harder this year, and support that journey with this iconic and catchy Taylor Swift song. After all, no relationship in your life is as important as the one with yourself.

I hope this list of Taylor Swift songs serves the Swifties right by providing the perfect song for the love you’re holding this holiday season. Wishing you the happiest of moments and the most of success with your relationship!

I’m Sarah Miller, a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Speech and Language Pathology. I’m going on my third semester as a Her Campus member. I joined my fall semester of my freshman year because I was in need of a women’s group and figured what better than one dedicated to connection and unity as much as this one! I’ve enjoyed interacting with women all over this country’s campuses. This magazine has kept me in tune with the interests, dilemmas, and goals of my generation— a sense of connection I’ve loved having and will continue to experience for the remainder of my time at IUP. Writing has long been a passion of mine. I see so much value in written words, especially because I’ve learned from every article I’ve read on this website. I hope that by the time I conclude my time at IUP, I will have contributed to the sense of unity and empowerment fostered through our posts to this magazine. I’m thankful to be part of this experience and look forward to striving for my goal through my publications.
