5 Signs You’re a Coffee Addict

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

I love coffee. Few things excite me more than the perfect cup of coffee and if I smell coffee–I have to find it. Needless to say, I am a coffee addict. And if you can relate to the five signs below, you probably are too!

1. Your first thought in the morning is coffee.

The very first thing I do in the morning is head for my coffee pot. I purchased one that has a delay brew function, so I even wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee.

2. A travel cup is always glued to your hand.

Things to take with me when leaving my room:

  • coffee cup
  • keys
  • backpack?

3. The barista knows you by name AND order.

Added bonus is when they start making your order before you even get to the counter.

4. People assume that if you’re in a bad mood you just haven’t had your coffee.

I mean come on, it’s liquid gold! Who wouldn’t be happy?!

5. You judge people for not drinking coffee.

Some people just love to point out how they can start their day without caffeine and you just don’t get it.

Don’t worry coffee addicts, we’re not alone. Americans drink roughly 587 million cups of coffee a year. Enjoy your coffee and slay the day!
