It’s been nearly four years since the King of Pop left behind throngs of heartbroken loyal fans. But like many other great artists, from his legacy springs many cover bands. One such cover band, Who’s Bad? will be appearing at the Bluebird this Saturday!

Who’s Bad? is comprised of 7 talented musicians with resumes including gigs from Walt Disney World to Jean Valjean. Who’s Bad?’s variety is perhaps what makes them so powerful and remarkable to see—nothing will ever be the same as seeing the King of Pop live in his prime, but Who’s Bad? might be your closest bet.

Band members include Joseph Bell on lead vocals, Taalib York also on lead vocals, Patrick Cross shredding on guitar and singing vocals, Archie Logan playing drums, Ray McCall on trumpet and vocals, Aaron McCoy playing saxophone and on vocals, and Vamsi Tadepalli who is the founder and manager of the group. Their set list contains hits from both the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson. Numbers in their set include: ABC, Another Part of Me, Bad, Beat It, Billie Jean, Blame it on the Boogie, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Heartbreak Hotel, I Can’t Help It, I’ll Be There, I Want You Back, Jam, The Lady in My Life, The Love you Save, Man in the Mirror, Never Can Say Goodbye, Off the Wall, PYT, Remember the Time, Rock With You, Shake Your Body Down, She’s Out of My Life, Smooth Criminal, and Thriller.

Who’s Bad? can be found at whosbadmusic.com where they offer videos of previous performances and Michael Jackson “terminology”. They offer intense bios of each band member and full set lists. They also feature recent reviews, for those of you on the fence about going. Their full tour schedule can also be located here, in case one performance isn’t enough.

Columbus Underground staff writer Stephanie Garber recently saw Who’s Bad? live and had nothing but good to say. She raved “…I immediately was drawn to the in-your-face, perfectly synchronized appeal of the trumpet and sax as they blared away in a side-to-side swoop dance that was reminiscent of old-school Morris Day and the Time. I LOVED THOSE HORN PLAYERS. The whole show packed a LOT of soul, which was part of its appeal: MJ is the King of Pop, but we know and love his songs for their slick studio production. This was a band flavored with some serious live R&B stylings.” More of Garber’s take on band can be found at http://www.columbusunderground…!
