IU From a Freshman’s Perspective: Just 6 more weeks!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Hi everyone! After my not so welcoming week back, I realized I only have six more weeks of being an IU freshman! That’s so crazy to me. It literally feels like I just moved in, and now I have to take all of my stuff back home.

It’s going to be so strange not living in the dorms anymore. I’ve gotten used to sharing a bathroom with 25 girls and always having some room to go in when I don’t want to do my homework.

I have also enjoyed raiding my roommate’s and friends’ closets when I don’t have any clothes to go out in.

It’s just really crazy to me how I got so adjusted to one lifestyle in not that long of a time period. I like the constant music coming from the bathroom, the Pizza X cups in every room, always having something to do and someone to tag along with.

Another thing is that bare little room I walked into during Welcome Week has become my home. Decorated with cards, pictures, IU posters, and just my and my roommate’s personalities and stories will make it hard to leave. I’ll really never have this experience again.

On a more positive note, I am looking forward to living in my own space with a living room and kitchen, and not having to subsist on the food courts. Every year here at IU will be a new experience, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
