5 Classic Chick Flicks for the Best Girls Night-In

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Is there anything better than a girls night-in every once in awhile? Fuzzy blankets, chocolate, and rom-coms– all essential for this occasion, especially if you’re turning the evening into a good, old-fashioned sleepover. But agreeing on a movie that is both refreshing and appealing to everyone can be difficult, so HCIU came up with a few movies to watch for your next GNI!

50 First Dates. Speaking from personal experience, this movie makes you cry one minute, and laugh until your stomach hurts the next. Also, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore make an adorable couple, right?

Sixteen Candles. This movie is one of my personal favorites. It’s the classic high school love story paired with a slightly cheesy plot. Plus, Jake is a total heartthrob and you won’t be able to take your eyes off him for the ENTIRE movie.

Sleepover. This one never gets old. Yes it’s a little juvenile, but it guarantees a couple good laughs and a reminder of the awkward middle school days.

The Longest Ride. Cute cowboys, handwritten love letters, and two star-crossed love stories… what could be better? The Longest Ride will tug on your heartstrings and make you believe in chivalry again, as well as inspire you to keep pursuing your dreams.

Letters to Juliet. This is a perfect movie for any girl experiencing a little wanderlust. It’s set in Verona, Italy and captures the beauty of the Italian landscape, as well as a budding romance between the two main characters, Sophie and Charlie.
