Ithaca is finally Gorges

It's finally spring (I know we've all been waiting patiently), and Ithaca is becoming beautiful again. For months in months (November-April), I ask myself why on earth I chose to go to a school where the air hurts my face. *cue meme*. It's only when the sun comes out and the temperature gets above 40 that I remember why I fell in love with this place.

As the weather warms up, Ithaca offers tons of things to do to procrastinate on your homework/finals. Here is a list of things you should do before the semester ends.

Explore the Commons

Get some Waffle Frolic, Explore Autumn Leaves book store or Angry Mom records, or just sit on a bench and do some reading/people watching. The commons are lively enough to get you out of your campus isolation but calm enough to allow for a productive space.

Go to the Farmers Market

While I have already written an article about the Farmers Market, I will continue to press on how going to the Farmers Market is a must! It is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am - 3 pm.

Hike/Visit a Gorge

If you've heard the phrase "Ithaca is Gorges" and never been to a gorge, this is a must. Not only are the gorges beautiful but the hiking is a great way to get in your one hour of gym time while also enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. As it gets warmer, some of these gorges (Buttermilk for example) are great places to swim too!

Go on a Wine Tour (21+)

Cayuga Wine trail has some great wines to taste and buy. Wine tours are great for college students because it's a fun day and is relatively cheap! Each winery's tasting is between 3-5 dollars with 6 wines to taste. There are also great restaurants for lunch (Cayuga Creamery, Thirsty Owl, Americana) so make a day of it!
