📍Post Grad: Alefiya is pursuing a career in independent journalism, with a focus on environmental and climate reporting, while pursuing independent research projects and freelance work.

Alefiya combined academic performance, investigative journalism, and environmental advocacy during her time on campus. Her academic rigor and leadership earned her the distinction of being named a Park Scholar, alongside receiving The Chawla/Ochoa Academic Achievement Award for her high-level research and published investigative works.

An inductee into the Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society, Alefiya stepped into a major editorial leadership role as the President and Editor-in-Chief of Buzzsaw Magazine. Her storytelling experience was further built out through professional industry internships, where she focused on underreported stories as an intern for Project Censored and covered critical climate issues as the Environmental Beat Intern for the Rochester Beacon.

Alefiya also focused heavily on gaining a global perspective by completing an immersive international academic path. She completed study-abroad programs across Dublin and Copenhagen in Spring 2025, followed by a semester studying in London in Spring 2026. Through these diverse journalistic, academic, and international experiences, she established a multi-disciplinary toolkit tailored for contemporary media and environmental reporting.

Ally focused on broadcast journalism, newsroom management, and public-facing campus leadership during her time on South Hill. Her editorial eye and on-air presence earned her an induction into Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society.

Her leadership significantly shaped the campus television landscape, where she served as the News Director for ICTV. In this role, she oversaw high-volume studio operations and managed newsroom teams. She anchored the studio desk for Newswatch Tuesday. Behind the scenes, she built out her technical production skills by driving editorial direction and control room operations as the Newswatch Thursday Content Producer.

Outside of the studio, Ally balanced her production schedule with community-oriented roles. She represented the university to prospective families as an Admissions Host and volunteered her time as a dog sitter for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, establishing a comprehensive background in both fast-paced media operations and community service.

Aoife Hartigan

Major: Communication Strategy & Design, BS

Ari Klawans

Behind the camera, she focused on high-impact visual narratives, recently helming her definitive thesis film, “Let’s Start Again,” a narrative exploring the trans experience.

Her creative versatility extended into performance and cultural leadership. Ari managed operations and shaped campus comedy as the Co-President of the Sketch Comedy Club, balancing her creative pursuits with institutional advocacy. Off-set, she served as the President of Hillel and was selected as a Campus Commons Fellow for the Bronfman Foundation, establishing a strong background centered on supporting creative spaces and fostering community connection.

Bella Bastos

📍Post Grad: Bella is relocating to Maryland to serve as a Digital Media Intern with the Choose Clean Water Coalition in conjunction with the National Wildlife Federation, where she will focus on creating meaningful environmental media for the non-profit sector.

Bella used her documentary work to focus on international storytelling, environmental advocacy, and visual production during her time on South Hill. Originally from SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil, her academic performance and campus impact earned her a sweep of institutional recognition, including being named a BOLD Scholar, alongside winning the Peggy Ryan Williams Award, the Chawla/Ochoa Academic Achievement Award, and the First-Generation Leadership Award.

An inductee into the Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society, Bella captured critical acclaim for her photography and photojournalism. She earned an Honorable Mention at the State of the Art Gallery 36th Annual Juried Photography Show for her photograph “High Legs” and secured a photojournalism selection at the FotoDoc Festival 2025. On campus, she applied her documentary skills to journalism as a photographer for The Ithacan, establishing a strong background in high-end visual production and advocacy media.

Duda Formoso

Major: Advertising, Public Relations & Marketing Communications, BS

Duda built a global digital platform during her time on South Hill, leveraging her 35.6K followers to guide international students navigating the journey to study in the United States. Her academic performance and civic engagement earned her a wide collection of institutional honors, including the Peggy Ryan Williams Award, the Campus Life Award, the First-Generation Senior Impact Award, and the Dr. Julian Thomas Euell Mind, Body, & Spirit Award.

Her executive leadership extended across multiple sectors of campus, leading to inductions into the Alpha Alpha Alpha, Lambda Pi Eta, and Oracle honor societies. Duda drove institutional strategy and community connection as the President of the Rotaract Club, Vice President of Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT), and Vice President of the Senior Class. Gianna Izzo

📍Post Grad: Gianna is moving to the New York City market to pursue a career in talent representation and casting, with a long-term goal of managing digital creators and championing diverse voices in the industry.

Gianna focused her creative vision on media production, professional writing, and event logistics during her time on South Hill. Her analytical skills earned her first place in the Critical Writing category for the 2026 Writing Department Writing Contest, and she single-handedly revived the campus chapter of Her Campus, serving as its first President and Campus Correspondent. Within Gamma Delta Pi, she managed organization logistics as the inaugural DEI Chair, Service Chair, and a four-time Formal Chair. Her interest in television production was reflected in her work as the Set Dresser for Drag House Rules Season 2, alongside contributions behind the scenes at ICTV and The Ithacan.

Her dedication to media led her to serve as the News Director for WICB, where she oversaw radio broadcasts and managed teams of student reporters. Commitment to professional ethics also defined her campus leadership, as she stepped into the role of President for the college chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).

Outside of the studio, Jackie developed her skills in alternative, grassroots storytelling and visual media. She sharpened her administrative and organizational skills as an Office Assistant for the Park Center for Independent Media (PCIM), an institution dedicated to amplifying independent voices. Kai’s communication skills heavily shaped campus media organizations. Katelyn Smith

Her mastery of real-time graphics earned her a Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Graphic Design for her work on the 2024 Paris Olympics with NBC, and she became the youngest NBC team member to receive an Honorary Chyron Blackbelt Certification. Her contributions were recognized with the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Park School, alongside her designation as a Leadership Scholar and inductions into the Lambda Pi Eta, Oracle, and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies.

In campus media, Katelyn spent three years as the Producer for ICTV’s Bombers Live, leading the broadcast to a National Finalist nomination for Best Live Sports Video at the College Broadcasters Inc. awards. Her storytelling extended into audio and long-form documentary, earning a Society of Professional Journalists Region 1 First Place Award as the creator of the How Are You Actually podcast, and serving as the Producer, Director, and Assistant Editor for the thesis documentary The Rainbow Under The Red Tape. Sports media production, live studio operations, and creative athletic storytelling defined Marin’s career on South Hill. A visionary creator with an eye for production, she launched and produced ICTV’s The Diamond Report, which captured the Best New Show award in 2023. She further cemented her studio leadership as a lead Producer for The Gridiron Report, serving as a technical mentor for peers and a champion for representation in sports media.

Outside of the television studio, Marin applied her production and branding skills to audience engagement and executive relations. She drove public outreach as the Social Media Manager for the Teaching Innovations in Sports Management Podcast and managed event logistics as a Social Media & Events Assistant for the Ithaca College Alumni Association. Additionally, she focused on mentoring the next generation of broadcasting talent by working as a counselor for Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camps.

Her impact on campus sports media culture extended into executive leadership, where she served as the President of the Association of Women in Sports Media (AWSM) and directed large-scale visual campaigns as the Manager of IC Creative Media.

In the professional sports industry, Rayahna built a high-level portfolio through extensive on-the-ground experience. She shot media coverage at Super Bowl LX Radio Row, worked as a FOX Sports Intern, and captured live action on the sidelines as an Assistant Photographer for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. Beyond her sports photography, she applied her visual skills to long-form media as a documentary filmmaker, notably directing TEN, a documentary profiling athlete Emma Garver.

Rua Fay

Major: Film, BFA

📍Post Grad: Rua is moving to Hollywood to study Producing at the American Film Institute (AFI), launching a career as a producer and director with the ultimate goal of having a feature film premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Rua established her presence in film analysis, international journalism, and cinema culture well before her career on South Hill. She achieved the distinction of becoming an official Rotten Tomatoes Critic, marking an early milestone in her professional writing career. Her understanding of cinema distribution and media operations is backed by entrepreneurial success; at 16 years old, she launched Cinemasters.net, a film journalism platform that attracts over 20,000 monthly views. Serving as the site’s primary journalist, she has commanded international press rooms and secured official press credentials for prestigious global events, including the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Tribeca, SXSW, and Sundance.

On campus, Rua balanced her international reporting with local cinematic camaraderie and industry networking. She anchored her dedication to the craft as an active member of the Delta Kappa Alpha professional cinema fraternity. Through these combined global and collegiate platforms, she developed an exhaustive knowledge of international cinema, built an extensive professional network, and established a versatile toolkit tailored for film curation, media criticism, and entertainment industry operations.

📍Post Grad: Sophia plans to pursue her passion for printmaking, specifically with linocut, designing and building a studio this summer. She would also like to continue digital marketing/social media management for music artists.

Sophia combined digital brand strategy, event marketing, and fine art during her career on South Hill. A gifted visual artist whose talents extended beyond the classroom, she earned the distinction of having her original artwork selected and displayed in the senior art show.

In her marketing and leadership roles, Sophia was central to the campus creative and public relations scene. She commanded the strategic public image and promotional outreach of major live entertainment events as the Marketing Head for the Bureau of Concerts. Combining her brand management skills with a passion for sustainable style and community engagement, she also served as the President of Ithafinds, a successful thrift and fashion project on campus, while contributing to the Park Enhancement Project. In the professional sector, she built out a versatile creative portfolio serving as a Social Media Coordinator for Miles High Productions and showcasing her entrepreneurial design skills by crafting custom children’s blankets and towels.

Gianna Izzo (she/her) is a senior at Ithaca College, majoring in Television & Digital Media Production. She previously served as President of Her Campus at Ithaca College, where she led the chapter’s relaunch during the 2024–2025 school year and will return as Co-President in Spring 2026. In Fall 2025, she will be participating in the Ithaca College Los Angeles (ICLA) program, where she plans to intern in the entertainment industry. Gianna is passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices and uses storytelling to bring diverse perspectives to the forefront.

She writes for The Ithacan’s Life & Culture section and is involved with ICTV, contributing to campus media through both writing and production. Her past experience includes freelance video work, script coverage during her internship at American High, and leadership roles in student media organizations.

Originally from New Jersey, Gianna has a deep love for concerts, theater, and live events. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, writing, and exploring new creative projects. She previously held several leadership roles in Gamma Delta Pi, including DEI Chair, Publicity Chair, Alumni Chair, and Formal Chair. Whether through journalism, media production, or creative storytelling, Gianna is committed to telling meaningful stories that elevate overlooked narratives.
