POP CULTURE: The 5 Stars We Wish We Saw More Of

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Being sky-rocketed into fame usually leads young stars to two options: staying famous, or fading away into the normal sphere. These stars have all seem to have fallen victim to option number two, and we’re not exactly happy about it. There’s a lot of wasted talent sitting out there, and we think it should be put to good use again. Here are the top five TV stars we wish we could see more of.

Chad Michael Murray

“One Tree Hill” pushed Murray into stardom, and he was riding high for a long time. Remember “A Cinderella Story?” Chad’s gorgeous blonde hair and chiseled face had us all wishing we were Hillary Duff in that movie. He also had us wishing we were Paris Hilton (which is a hard thing to do) when he starred along side her in “House of Wax.” So where is he now? Well he’s engaged (since 2006!) to Kenzie Dalton, who was an extra on “One Tree Hill.” We wish he was still that committed to acting!

Penn Badgley

“Gossip Girl” just recently aired its last episode, but we’re hoping it won’t be the last of Penn Badgley. He was adorable in “Easy A,” and hopefully now that his long-running and time-consuming television show has ended, he will be popping up in more movies. Penn is the perfect actor to come alive right now. At this point, he can either fall into the shadows or totally blow up. We hope it’s the latter!

Hillary Duff

Every show on The Disney Channel makes me miss my childhool when we had shows like “Lizzie McGuire.” Duff took her TV stardom and transformed into a movie star and a killer singer. We still know all the words to “Come Clean” and we still enjoy watching “Cheaper by the Dozen” and “The Lizzie McGuire Movie.” Duff may be married with a young son, but we think she should get back into movies, TV or at least make new music!

Rachel Bilson

“The O.C.” premiered 10 years ago, and that makes us feel really old. But, it probably makes Rachel Bilson feel even older. She’s transitioned into fashion design since starring on the hit TV show with Mischa Barton, but it would be awesome to see her back on our TVs or on the big screen. Her shoe line with the website Shoe Dazzle is totally cute and affordable, but we want her to be a designer and an actress, not one or the other!

Rider Strong

How cute is Rider Strong? He was definitely the fan favorite when he was on “Boy Meets World,” NNow that “Girl Meets World” is coming our way, we’re seriously hoping he’ll make an appearance. How could someone so talented, likeable and attractive just stop acting? It seems like the whole cast of “Boy Meets World” kind of went down that path, but since Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Ben Savage (Cory) are coming back for the new show, maybe they can convince Rider to join in on the fun. Bring on the Shawn hair flips!

What celeb do you wish would make a comeback after falling into the shadows? Let us know in the comments!
