Fall is here, and there are so many fun activities to go and try. But sometimes we all just need a night or even a whole day inside to relax. One of my favorite things to do when I just want to stay home is to watch movies. So here are some of my fall movie recommendations to watch.

1. practical magic

Practical Magic is an absolute fall classic. It’s the perfect Halloween desk movie that’s not horror and has a bit of romance to it. It is about these two sisters who are witches and how they navigate their lives. It’s a super cute movie. It even has a sequel that just came out if you wanted to watch that as well.

2. resident evil

This is a brand new movie that just came out this fall. If you’re looking for more of a scary movie, this is a great choice. It’s based on a video game, but essentially it follows this guy who is sent to this far-away hospital, and when he reaches the town, things go awry. I don’t want to spoil it too much, but I saw this in theatres, and it had some great jump scares. It has a great balance between humor and horror, which I was not expecting but loved it.

3. when harry met sally

When Harry Met Sally is another classic that I personally believe everyone should watch at least once. It’s a great 90’s romcom, and stars Meg Ryan. If you know anything about her, you know all of her romcoms are fantastic. But this movie follows the two main love interests and their chemistry throughout ten years. It’s got comedy, romance, and drama. I’ve loved this movie for years, so I definitely recommend giving it a try.

4. twilight

The Twilight Saga Edward and Bella
Summit Entertainment

If you’re on social media, you already know how iconic Twilight is. Twilight is a peak fall movie to watch, especially if it’s gloomy and raining. Twilight is a teen romance movie about vampires. It’s one of those movies where it’s best to say less about it, so you get the full experience. It’s also an entire series of movies, so you can have a whole marathon to watch them all. If you love Robert Pattinson, you should watch this.

5. the blair witch project

With it being a spooky season, I had to recommend at least one more horror movie. The Blair Witch Project is a found-footage-style movie about this group going into the woods where they encounter the spirits of a witch. It’s definitely pretty scary, so I would keep that in mind. If you love found footage styles, this is a great choice.

Fall movies are just some of the coziest feel-good movies to watch. Of course, with the exception of the scary ones. But there’s truly a variety to choose from. So many are coming out in theatres, so definitely take a look out for those. But these are just some of my fall favorites!
