Whether you’re single or taken, there are so many different ways to spend Valentine’s Day. From hanging out with your serious boyfriend to a crazy night out with your girls, let the red and pink shine through your killer Valentine’s Day ensemble.
Romantic Date Night With Your Beau (or new crush)
You can’t quite go wrong with a white, pink, red or even a little black dress for this occasion. I think the perfect route to impress your man would be a fun and flirty white dress. Wear something that flatters the body but is not form fitting. This day is supposed to be about love, so show him your feminine side. Also, don’t be afraid to add pattern! Have fun with it! After all, when is the next time you’ll be able to wear a dress with red hearts all over it? Keep it simple with delicate, gold jewelry to take this outfit to the right level. Throw on a pair of nude pumps and you’re ready for whatever the night has in store for you.
A Night Out With Your Girls
This will most likely be a night of no rules, so dress in something you wouldn’t usually wear on a typical night out. You want to look your absolute best. If you’re feeling rebellious, go for the dark colors while keeping it classic, yet edgy and chic. Think black leather, crop top, gold jewelry and animal print. Then add a pop of red to your outfit! Stay away from the light pinks for this occasion if you’re really going for the bad-girl look. This is an effortless way to dress for the occasion, but not look like you’re trying too hard. Some of my favorites are a red clutch or fabulous red pumps. If you want to hold back a little on anything lovey-dovey related, try something as simple as red nails or red lipstick to polish it off.
Movie Night With Your Besties
You have no one to impress, so keep it cute and casual. Obviously get into the valentines spirit a little bit, but no need to stress on the perfect gift for your boyfriend or which shoes look better with that skirt. It’s your best friends, and you’re all in the same boat. My favorite look for this instance would be a graphic tee or a fun sweater. Wildfox makes so many great options that would be perfect for a festive night in. Have some fun with it and joke around with this “My Date” t-shirt. Aim for a good rom-com chick-flick like “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “The Notebook” or “27 Dresses.” Be sure to buy each other a box of chocolates and possibly even Chinese take-out. What screams single on Valentine’s Day better than that?
A Night in to Yourself
If the absolute perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day sounds like a night in with a box of pizza all to yourself, then do it. That slice of pizza is the perfect Valentine’s Day date. Put on your favorite pair of pink slippers and coziest pajamas that fit the theme. Treat yourself to a gift that you’ll put to good use for your next big night out. A fun necklace or maybe a new watch will do the trick.
