Fashion Blog: A Scarf For This Season

When the seasons transition from fall to winter, it can be easy to lose interest in being fashionable and exchange style for warmth and comfort. However, I personally love bundling up in an oversized scarf during my brisk morning walks to class. While looking totally cool, an oversized wrap scarf will keep you warm and is the ultimate must-have for fall. Take advantage of this seasonal trend and don’t let your fashion sense drop with the temperature.

With so many stylish scarf options, you can find one to complement any outfit. Worn in many different ways, adding a scarf to your outfit will not only provide warmth, but also an added element of texture and color as well. 

I’ll admit it. I am a huge fan of the “snood.” During chilly walks around campus, I frequently use my infinity scarf as a hood to keep warm. It is beautifully knitted in a mix of gray and white, and looks warm and cozy for cold fall days.

Plain? Tribal? Floral? When on the hunt for the perfect scarf, keep in mind the many different patterns of scarves available. Tribal prints have been popular the past few seasons and this “Warehouse Aztec Blanket Scarf” by Asos is the perfect way to try the trend and beat the cold in style.

And Michael Kors has done it again. The designer always manages to take ordinary classics and add an element of luxury to them by incorporating unique details. Available at Nordstrom, the toggle detail on this  “MICHAEL Michael Kors Toggle Neck Warmer” adds so much to an ordinary wrap scarf. It comes in many different colors and is the perfect way to add a pop of color to your winter gear.

For a preppy feel, try this “Pieces Bongo Scarf.” Also available at ASOS, the long length of this knitted wool scarf, will keep you toasty while trendy.

Finally, I love this “Faux Fur Scarf” from Forever 21. At a reasonable price, you can afford to experiment with this luxurious option. If you aren’t sure about wearing it for everyday, I recommend pairing it with a leather jacket for special occasions.
