Do You Feel Old Yet? These Shows & Movies Are 10 Years Old

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Picture this. It’s 2008. You’re on your AIM account on your desktop computer. As you message your friends, the new hit by Flo Rida, “Low,” comes on the radio. No midterms, no problems, and no stress. It was a simpler time. But, as we know, days and years go by quickly. Hit songs start to play and fade out, new movies are seen and forgotten, and time moves so fast that it is hard to pay attention to things that are changing. While time does pass, we always have classic movies and TV shows that are impossible to forget. If you are prepared to feel old, check out these movies that hit the big screen 10 years ago.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year – October 24

If you want to know where you can find me on October 24th this year, find me binge watching all three High School Musical movies and wondering how time has flown so quickly.

Another Cinderella Story – September 16

Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me something I don’t know. It has been 10 years since Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley made us jealous with their romance and dance moves.

Camp Rock – June 20

“This is real (this is me).” It is hard to believe that it has been a decade since Connect Three had us swooning over their guitar playing and singing.

The House Bunny – August 22

10 years have passed since we met our favorite hizzity house mother. Shelley taught us so may valuable life lessons: “Kindness is just love with its work boots on.” “The United States of America. USA for short. Fifty states, if you count Hawaii. Most people do.” And most importantly, she taught us a pickup line that is sure to win your crush over any day: “Your biceps are huge. Kiss me!”

The Suite Life on Deck – September 26

It is hard to remember a time where Cole and Dylan Sprouse were two young, adorable, blonde twins causing mischief on a boat instead of as the dreamy studs they are today.

27 Dresses – January 9

This movie may have premiered 10 years ago, but it still gave us 27 more reasons to love Katherine Heigl. We will never get over the “Benny and the Jets” duet between her and James Marsden.

Step Brothers – July 25

A decade later, and we can still hear a voice that sounds like a combination of Fergie and Jesus singing “Let’s Give ‘Em Something to Talk About.”
