DIY: Your Favorite Restaurant Dishes at Half the Calories

Are you tired of depriving yourself of your favorite high calorie treats because you are afraid of putting on extra pounds? Do you ever wish you could enjoy those treats without the guilt? Well, do I have the solution for you!

If you are craving a delicious hot panini from Panera Bread, but want to avoid the 39g of fat and 860 calories (WOW), here is an equally mouth watering panini with 5.25g of fat and only 256 calories!


Here’s what you’ll need:

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 tbsp. fat-free mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. adobo sauce or chipotle hot sauce
  • 2 dashes onion powder
  • 2 dashes garlic powder

Sandwich

  • One 100-calorie flat sandwich bun (like Arnold Select or Oroweat Sandwich Thins)
  • 2 oz. cooked skinless lean chicken breast, shredded or pulled into pieces
  • 1 tbsp. roughly chopped fresh basil
  • 2 thin slices red onion
  • 2 slices plum tomato
  • 1 stick light string cheese, shredded or pulled into pieces


Dessert time! Now what girl doesn’t love pie? Well, the kind that doesn’t want to consume 415 calories for just one slice of banana cream pie! Here’s the healthy alternative, for only 163 calories a slice!

 

What you’ll need:

Crust

  • 1 cup of Fiber One Original bran cereal
  • 2 sheets (8 crackers) low-fat honey graham crackers, broken into pieces
  • 3 tbsp. Splenda No Calorie Sweetener (granulated)
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup light whipped butter or light buttery spread (like Brummel & Brown)

Filling

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/4 cup Splenda No Calorie Sweetener (granulated)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch?1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups light plain soymilk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. light whipped butter or light buttery spread (like Brummel & Brown)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Topping 

  • 1 cup Cool Whip Free, thawed?1 banana
