If you’re like me, you probably spent some time over winter break binge-watching Netflix and finishing the shows you had been watching. Now that we’re in a new semester it’s time for a new show to binge-watch when you’re procrastinating on your homework or have some free time. Fortunately, Netflix is always coming out with new shows and specials, check out these recommendations next time you’re looking for a show to watch!

1. Cheer

Whether you’ve competed in cheerleading before or not, you’ll be inspired by the hard work that the Navarro College cheer team demonstrates as they attempt to win another national title. Jerry is an instant fan fave, along with other athletes such as Morgan, Lexi and Gabi. Coach Monica runs the show for this team and her dedication to her athletes helps prove how far hard work and determination can go. Although there is speculation about a second season, right now there is only one season on Netflix and it’s only six episodes, making this show very easy to binge-watch!

2. Schitt’s Creek

Currently in its sixth season airing on TV, Schitt’s Creek will have you laughing through every episode. When the Rose family loses all their wealth and is left with a town that they bought as a joke they move into the town’s motel. Schitt’s Creek follows the family as they work to adapt to life in a small town, characters like Alexis and David are hilarious and relatable. Even better, Johnny and David Rose are played by real-life father and son Eugene and Daniel Levy, who also produced the show. The Schitt’s Creek episodes are short so binge-watchers can get through multiple episodes in one sitting!

3. You

Season 2 of this show was recently released on Netflix, featuring Joe Goldberg, AKA Dan Humphrey from Gossip Girl, who becomes obsessed with his love interest and will stop at nothing to be with her. Both seasons include some crazy plot twists, but beware that there is some violence and blood in the show. I binge-watched both seasons of You over winter break, and the end of season 2 leaves us with some serious questions that will be addressed in season 3. If you want a show that offers some mystery and suspense, You is the show for you!

4. The Good Place

If the fact that The Good Place stars Kristen Bell isn’t enough to get you to watch the show, the hilarious story line filled with friendships, relationships and drama will rope you in. The Good Place takes a twist on the afterlife and the lovable cast makes the show even better. Three seasons of The Good Place are currently on Netflix, and the fourth will probably be added soon!

Bonus: Netflix comedy specials! Netflix recently started posting comedy specials that feature various comedians. Each special has a different topic and each comedian is hilarious! If you’re looking for a laugh these will definitely do the trick.

No matter what show you decide to watch, all of these recommendations will keep your attention throughout, whether they have only one season or six! Happy watching!
