We can think of one girl in particular who’s been slaying the game lately: Korean-American model Soo Joo Park.
Doesn’t ring a bell? You’ve definitely seen her face around. She’s Asian, no doubt, but her hair screams bonafide Donatella, if Donatella Versace woke up on Sunday morning after a night of throwing back shots – straight, no chaser – and had nobody to impress that morning. Wait, scratch that. Donatella probably does that as well. But you get the idea. She’s taken that swagger to the runways for major fashion players like Jeremy Scott, Comme des Garçons and Chanel. She’s the global spokesperson of L’Oreal Paris, and is already the face of Redken. Now add some M.A.C., Tom Ford, Urban Outfitters and JUUN.J. campaigns to that glossy résumé. Sound badass enough? Girl’s just getting started.
Here’s the story: Girl is born to Korean parents in Seoul. Girl moves with said family to California when she’s 10. Girl was really into fashion when she was a youngster, dressing up Barbie dolls and making scrapbooks with clippings from her mom’s magazines and whatnot. Fast forward a few years and girl just recently graduated college, goes shopping at a vintage store one day, and is scooped up by a modeling scout. We don’t need to tell you how this story ends.
The fashion world better watch its backs. We got a new bad chick on the block, and she’s just as fly as Kendall and blonder than Gigi.
