5 Pumpkin Spice Styles For Your Fall Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Since the emergence of the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin spice has become much more than a drink. It has evolved into one of fall’s most fashion-forward trends that every pumpkin spice lover can rock.

The great thing about pumpkin spice style is that it works on a variety of skin tones. When shopping for a paler skin tone, look for more plum and red hues that will show more of a contrast on your skin and not wash you out. If you have a tan or darker skin tone, shop for deeper orange tones that bring out the natural beauty of your skin and compliment it.

Because pumpkin spice style is not limited to one particular piece, it flatters all body types. No matter if you’re slim or curvy, tall or short, pumpkin spice style allows fashion lovers to find the piece that best suits them. If your body shape leans more towards tall and lean, try wearing a pumpkin spice colored oversized sweater and leggings to show off your height. If you’re more petite and curvy a pumpkin spice colored dress or flowy shirt with an accentuating belt will suit you better.

So, regardless of your skin tone or body shape, there’s a pumpkin spice piece out there for everyone this fall and I’m here to help you find it.

1. Nordstrom, Easy Fit Long Cotton Blend Cardigan by Leith in Rust Ginger

This duster cardigan is perfect for taller girls with a tan or darker skin tone. The pockets and bunched up collar add definition and structure to the sweater. Pair it with a neutral t-shirt, skinny jeans, booties, and you’re showing everyone how pumpkin spice style is done right.

2. Free People, Walking the Line Mini in Paprika

This Free People dress is the perfect blend of sassy and sophisticated. The slit in the sleeves gives it some flare and the color pops on both light and dark skin tones. Pair it with a cute hat, booties or thigh high boots, if you’re feeling confident, and a thin, tan belt to accentuate the waist.

3. Forever 21, Buttoned Faux Suede Skirt in Rust

This mini skirt is the perfect option for someone that wants to incorporate a pop of color into their outfit this fall. To make sure the skirt is the focal point of the outfit, pair it with a black off the shoulder crop top, a choker and some black booties or heels. It’s perfect for all body types and pumpkin spice lovers!

4. Nordstrom, Faux Suede Moto Jacket by ASTR in Rusted Tan

This ASTR jacket is perfect to throw over any neutral colored tank or t-shirt as the weather starts to cool down. The zipper detailing adds an element of flare to your outfit and will make you the most stylish student around campus.

5. Lucky Brand, Salana Heel in Sedona

These festive heels are sure to make any drab outfit fab! They are the perfect balance between simple and elaborate, while still showing off your personal style. Pair these will a black or nude bodycon dress to tie in a little element of pumpkin spice.
