In a world full of podcast choices, it’s difficult to pick the perfect one to listen to on a weekly basis. However, influencers Sarah Baska and Caitlyn Rae seem to be able to produce one that every girl in her college years should be tuning into.

The two social media stars launched their own podcast called “Cheers, Brother!” at the start of the new year. The podcast centers around the craziness that is life in your 20s from girls who are still navigating what it means to be a young adult in the age of social media.

This isn’t the first time Baska and Rae have shared wacky stories and given life advice to audiences; in fact, both girls run popular YouTube channels that have given them a solid following. Rae, originally from Boston, posts videos about concerts and music festivals, and she films her impulsive decisions on camera. She and her friends go camping, rent out wacky AirBnBs, and even get stuck in elevators on her channel. With a little under 400,000 subscribers, she’s made a name for herself on the internet. Just as successful is Baska, who boasta a YouTube subscriber count of 1.68 million. She fangirls over Harry Styles, shows off her gaming skills, and even sings from time to time. Together, the girls have joined forces to create one of the next podcasts you need to listen to.

Personally, I don’t listen to podcasts regularly. Sometimes if I’m feeling sick of music at the gym, I’ll aimlessly scroll though Spotify to find one that I think will help me power through the hour. However, it can be difficult to find a podcast that is as entertaining as it is positive and uplifting. With “Cheers, Brother!” you get the best of both worlds: anecdotes and one-liners that will have you cracking up (like Sarah’s stories about her cat are), and then you have reflections about social media and how it shapes us in our teen years and beyond. The girls have been producing content for the internet for years, and yet their honesty about even the minor struggles in their daily routines makes them relatable and raw.

The two girls, despite their large following, are extremely relatable and they aren’t shy about discussing life’s pitfalls. Each episode feels like a sitdown conversation that you would have with your best friends, and Rae and Baska bring together a medley of topics that may not make sense on paper, but resonate clearly with their target audience. The podcast is very relaxed and not at all formal, leaving fans comfortable and open to listening in every week. The podcast also features a question and answer segment at the end where the hosts answer listener questions about their own lives, or how they feel about aspects of the social media world.

Though it helps to be a fan of the girls individually as well as a duo, even those who have never seen anything from them before can easily dive into their podcast. Since it just started this year, there’s the opportunity to start at the beginning and binge each episode (you can even watch the YouTube videos the girls post each Saturday after episode releases on Friday) so that you aren’t missing any piece of advice the girls give. They also are able to seamlessly connect the old age of social media to the new, connecting the content we loved from the past to today’s concept of what it means to be an influencer.

In my opinion, the girls are like older sisters I never had, and I highly recommend giving the podcast a listen next time you want to spice up your routine!
