Your Favorite TV Character Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

Have you ever watched your favorite TV show and wondered what Hogwarts house your favorite character would be sorted into? No? Just me? Well, if you were wondering, then you are in luck because I have sorted some popular TV and movie characters into Hogwarts houses.

Gryffindor

People who are sorted into Gryffindor stand for bravery and help others. They can be show-offs, but they will do anything to help others.

  1. Wonder Woman from Wonder Woman

Diana Prince leaves her home to help people she doesn’t even know. She doesn’t have to do this, but she does it because she wants to help and save others. Diana shows great bravery, and that is all that Gryffindor’s stand for.

  1. John Watson from Sherlock

Coming back from war, John Watson just wants to get over his PTSD and get a flatmate. He has a chance to not get into Sherlock’s dangerous life, but he stands with Sherlock because John is a brave man who just wants to save people. He continuously puts his life in danger to help others, which is what Gryffindor’s do.

  1. Emma Swan from Once Upon A Time

So even though Emma doesn’t believe that she was the savior, she continuously goes out of her way and gathers courage and strength to save others. Through the show, Emma has many chances to leave and just live a normal life, but she stays and fights.

Slytherin

People who are sorted into Slytherin are very cunning and prideful. They know what they want and will do anything to get it.

  1. Tom Haverford from Parks and Rec

Tom always wants money, and he will do anything to get it. He has great ideas because of this want but also some not-so-great ideas. Even though he does get knocked down sometimes, he never stops trying and finally gets what he wants in the end.

  1. Rachel Berry from Glee

Rachel is the ideal Slytherin. She is cunning and prideful to a T. She is bossy and will tear other people down to get her way, just like when she got rid of her choir director because he didn’t give her solos.

  1. Jeff Winger from Community

Jeff is another character that just screams Slytherin. In Community’s opening episode, he tricks a girl into believing he has a study group just to be with her. He continues to stay in the group just to get with this girl. He is more prideful than anything and will do anything just to get with the girl he wants.

Hufflepuff

People who are sorted into Hufflepuff are loyal and hard workers. They will do anything for their friends and will always be there for them.

  1. Jess Day from New Girl

Jess is a very friendly and patient. She lives to be a friend with everyone and will do anything for her friends. She is a hard worker in her job as a teacher, even when there are setbacks. Jess would love being a Hufflepuff and having friends. She would probably have a pet badger just to show off her house spirit.

  1. George O’Malley from Grey’s Anatomy

George is another TV character who just bleeds Hufflepuff spirit. He is a very kind soul, even though he has a very tough job. He stays kind through everything that is thrown at him, and it takes a lot to make him mad at you. He is there for his friends and will do a lot for them.

  1. Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds

Penelope is a woman who just is the sun. She brings sunshine and happiness to the TV show and just wants to help her friends. Being part of the BAU is a hard job for anyone and would make anyone sad, but Penelope never loses her happy nature and tries to cheer her friends up after tough days. She is always loyal to her team and would do anything for them.

Ravenclaw

People who are in the Ravenclaw house stand for wisdom and creativity. They stand for the intellectual side of things.

  1. Sam Winchester from Supernatural

Sam is the logical side of the team of brothers. He is the one who always wants to learn more about the things they are hunting. Sam also plans things in a creative way and tries to learn more about things, which is why he at the beginning, he chooses to go to school instead of helping his brother and father.

  1. Rick from Rick and Morty

Rick could be considered a Slytherin since he is looking out for himself most of the time, but Rick cares more about knowledge than anything else. If you impress him with your intellect, he will respect you and treat you like an equal.

  1. Raven from Teen Titans

Raven is another character who is very intellectual and values that more than anything else. She is a loyal person, but she values her wisdom more than her friends. She loves learning more and is always reading. She is also very creative and love combining these two things.

These are my choices for a handful of characters, but these characters could easily be put into other Hogwarts houses because no person or character is one dimensional and can have more than one main value. If you think these characters should be sorted into a different house, comment below!
