Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed Monday evening to the Supreme Court of the United States. Amy, who avoided answering questions during her hearing and did not know the first five amendments, replaces the notorious RBG’s seat.

This is now Trump’s third SCOTUS pick being confirmed within three years of being President. Back in February of 2016, former president Barack Obama tried to get Merrick Garland confirmed when someone on SCOTUS passed but GOP lawmakers blocked the vote, McConnell and Graham said that during an election year, a SCOTUS nomination should not be held and the American people should decide.

Well, here we are four years later, the American people spoke but were ignored. Barrett does not belong to the supreme court. She stated she is an originalist who believes the constitution should be interpreted in the way it was written- for white males.

Millions now are more than likely going to be uninsured in the next coming weeks because the supreme court will be holding hearings on whether or not to repeal ObamaCare or the Affordable Care Act. Now, with conservatives holding the majority 6-3 on the court, millions are facing no insurance.

People below the age of 26, which is us, college students, will have nothing in place. How, can anyone in their right mind take away coverage ESPECIALLY during a pandemic? Instead of repealing and supposedly replacing, BUILD ON IT. FIX IT.

Not only that, but more than likely, SAFE abortions will no longer be a common thing with likely push back on them. Barrett does not believe in abortions, believes in charging people with murder for miscarriages, and does not believe in IVF.

How can a woman, who more than likely had her fair share of reproductive issues take the ladder RBG built for others to climb up and enjoy benefits and roll it right back up without any care in the world?

Abortions happen because the baby is killing the mother and is more than likely going to die within a few hours of being born, the baby is stillborn and or for private reasons that are NONE of my concern. Pro-choice doesn’t mean you are in favor but it means that what someone chooses, it is none of my business because I don’t understand their situation.

Also, some women’s reproductive systems or uterus just don’t do what they are expected to; miscarriages happen or they have to do IVF. Sometimes, our bodies don’t function like they were made to do and there is nothing wrong with that. But to take away women’s right after so much work has been done to just get where we are is disheartening, especially from a woman herself nonetheless.

But let’s not forget about our LGBTQ+ community. After Obama and the Supreme Court fought so hard to make it the law of the land, they face it being outlawed once again. Love is love. It shouldn’t matter who someone loves- it isn’t affecting your life any differently than before.

It’s not even the fact that she, along with fellow party members, is going to negatively affect the lives of millions of people. It’s the fact that she has never listened nor decided criminal cases. She has had no prior experience. Someone, in a lifetime position who has little to no experience in cases that are heard at the highest level of court for our country, is going to decide for the American people who she seems to give zero crap about.

My heart breaks for the absolute hatred this administration and GOP lawmakers continue to have against their own people. How can people be so cold and unattached to what happens to their constituents? Ignore the millions of lives about to be lost due to their carelessness?

Keep fighting, it doesn’t and can’t end here.
