Are you sick of sporting the same old boring braid?
Want to try something new & stylish?
The fishtail braid is perfect for you! It’s quick, simple, and super easy to learn!

Follow these few steps then practice a little and you’ll have this braid perfected in no time!

Step 1:
Divide hair into two equal parts.

Step 2:
Take a small outside piece from the right portion of the hair like shown above. Cross it over to the left side and hold it with your left hand.

Step 3:
Switch hands, and hold the right portion of hair with your right hand, making sure the strand you just pulled over stays in place. Take a piece of hair from the outer left side.

(Shown above)

Step 4:
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until complete!

Ta-Da! There’s your perfect fishtail braid!

Megan is a sophomore Journalism major at Illinois State University, with a minor in Creative Writing. She balances her time between class, her sorority- Gamma Phi Beta, and writing for the college newspaper- The Daily Vidette. When she’s not busy, Meg likes to shop for the best sales, rollerblade, hang out with friends or watch reruns of Sex and The City. Becoming a campus correspondent/editor-in-chief was a great accomplishment for her because she is an aspiring writer, hoping to take on the world of mass media after graduation in 2013.
