With hockey season in full swing it seems only fitting to get the inside scoop of our very own Illinois State Hockey team.  The ISU hockey team is on a winning streak with 12 wins out of 14 games this season. I had the pleasure of meeting ISU goalie, Scott Czarnik. Last year, Scott helped the team head to the Final Four in the National tournament. Scott is a die-hard hockey fanatic with a passion for winning.

HC: How long have you been playing hockey?

Scott: I started playing hockey when I was seven years old. I actually transferred to ISU from Arizona State University where I played Division 1 because I wanted to be closer to home.

HC: What is your favorite part about playing hockey?

Scott: I would have to say the thrill of winning and the chance to make it to the National Championships.  We do a lot of traveling so it can affect our social life, but it is definitely worth it. Being on a team has allowed me to make life long friends and it is a great networking opportunity.

HC: Do you have a favorite pro hockey team or player?

Scott: Blackhawks all the way. I would have to say my favorite player is Jocelyn Thibault. He is the reason I started playing goalie.

HC: Go Chicago! What is your pump up song?

Scott: OAR all the way.

HC: Always a solid choice. When is the next home game?

Scott: November 8th we play Northern Illinois University. We had a great turn out at our last home game and I hope we can keep that up. Playoffs are this March in Boston and I hope our team can bring home a win.

HC: What are your plans after you graduate?

Scott: Well I am a Recreation management major and I have an internship with the Chicago Blackhawks this summer. I will be doing team services, so I get to work with the players.

HC: Wow, congrats Scott! Who is your celebrity crush?

Scott: I would say Jessica Biel, but Jennifer Aniston is a cutie too.
