Matcha green tea has become a popular drink ever since Starbuck’s Matcha Green Tea Latte has taken a spot on their menu. This particular green tea is made from Camellia sinensis plant leaves and it is so yummy. It literally means “powered tea”.

The health benefits:

  • Matcha is a more potent source of nutrients than regular green tea.
  • Matcha is rich in antioxidants that have been tied to protection against heart disease and cancer.
  • Matcha has shown to boost metabolism and slow cancer growth cells.
  • Matcha boosts brain function in attention, reaction time, and memory.

Recipes:

Matcha Latte

  • 1 Cup Milk                                    
  • 1-2 Tsp Matcha Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Syrup
  • Ice

Matcha Ice Cream

  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 10 Drops Lime Juice
  • 1 Tbso unsalted butter
  • 8 oz Matcha Green Tea
  • 1 Cup Whipping Cream
  • Ice
