Manifesting: Everything You Need to Know

Jakira Lewis Student Contributor, Illinois State University
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

To start off, manifesting is a proven technique/method that works really well. I have learned about it more in depth when I got into high school. I have tried scripting, the 369 method, affirmations, and so much more. I will say that most have worked for me. I tried other ones like subliminal messages and visualization, and out of those two, I really enjoy subliminal messages. Some methods work that I have listed only work if you are consistent and don’t have negative thoughts.

For starters, what is manifestation? Manifestation is a process where you turn your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions into a reality by aligning your inner state with your desired outcomes. It is believing that what you want is gonna happen (your life is a reflection of your consciousness/inner self — a desire plus aligned energy plus inspired actions equal manifestation). You can pretty much manifest anything when you think about what you truly want in life and desire for yourself. So like money, health, relationships, friendships, gym goals, academic success, new car/vehicle, dream career/job, etc.

Manifestation Methods

So, a method that is effective is the 369 method, which uses repetition to align your thoughts. This is where you write in a journal, a plain one to be exact, not one that has pages that have been written on. You would write what you desire three times for the first section, and the second section six times, and for the last one nine times. Making sure you really believe that you are going to receive that desire helps with positive thoughts. You would have to do this for some days, like thirty-three days or forty-five days, which can also be effective in nine days for some people. Longer days are recommended for deeper focusing and subconscious reprogramming.

So, for the next technique, I would say subliminal messages, which you would find online and listen to. This method isn’t much and doesn’t take long, depending on if you want a long or short video. There are affirmations in the video description or caption that you would read while listening to the audio. This can be with headphones on or off, and if you do not have headphones, then you should be at least in a quiet space where you can fully hear the audio. This has been proven to work extremely fast, mainly through the repetition form using that subliminal over and over.

Scripting is a method where you write what you want/desire in a notebook. Describing what you want for the present tense really helps. Same with the 369 method, basically anything you would like to have, and do this often while thanking the universe. An example would be if you want a car, describe when and how you got it, the color, the money you put down for it, etc.

Vision boards are a great way to manifest, which involves a digital or physical board. Putting pictures on the board or online helps with what you want to achieve for the year. This is typically done at the beginning of the new year.

Lastly, Meditation plus visualization is a simple technique, focusing on what you hear, smell, or see, allowing yourself to enjoy the visualization as if it is real. Meaning, writing out what you are trying to manifest and focusing on what you would feel while visualizing. It is recommended to do this every night before bed and doing it again as you wake up in the morning. Manifesting your desire is truly really easy when you think about it and stay positive. Having negative thoughts will not help if you really want something. There are also other techniques that are effective as well and I would highly look into it if you want to manifest!!
