Nowadays there is an app for practically everything, thanks to Steve Jobs, girls can be updated with the latest fashion trends at their fingertips. These apps are my personal favorites and come in handy when I am not near my computer. These apps will spark creativity and inspire you from day to day.

Style.com
This app has it all, from designers, trends, and runway models. I can spend quite some time on this app as I really get caught up with my favorite designers and their latest collection. You can create an account and save your personal outfits on a lookbook so you can look at them later. So whether you are a Fashion major or simply love good clothes, you won’t be disappointed with this app.

Shopstyle
I downloaded this app on a recommendation from a friend and haven’t really utilized it until over the break. Say you need skinny jeans, you put it in the search engine with your preferences such as color, size, price, etc and bam, it gives you a list of places where you can buy them. I was amazed at how many options it gave me; needless to say I will be using it more often.

Favorite stores
No, this is not an app, this is simply whatever your favorite store is! It seems really simple but again why not have your go-to stores on your phone or iPod? For example Urban Outfitters is a store I frequently browse; I’m not always by my computer so it’s convenient to have that app.

Favorite Magazine
We don’t always have subscriptions to Elle or Vogue in college so it is helpful to have your favorite magazine in the palms of your hands.

Stylebook
This app lets you import your actual clothes from your wardrobe to create your outfit for the day as well as track them. You can plan ahead or keep track of your style, like a photoblog.

Illinois State

Megan is a sophomore Journalism major at Illinois State University, with a minor in Creative Writing. She balances her time between class, her sorority- Gamma Phi Beta, and writing for the college newspaper- The Daily Vidette. When she’s not busy, Meg likes to shop for the best sales, rollerblade, hang out with friends or watch reruns of Sex and The City. Becoming a campus correspondent/editor-in-chief was a great accomplishment for her because she is an aspiring writer, hoping to take on the world of mass media after graduation in 2013.
