Lindsay’s Fashion Blog: Floral Pants

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

While pursuing some of my favorite blogs, I came across an image that was quite interesting… floral pants. I thought I had seen it all because fashion has such a long history you would think all of the patterns and prints had been seen. But that’s the beauty of fashion with so many minds there are endless possibilities on what can be seen. Floral shorts are cute but floral jeans are a different matter. I’m not talking about the little flowers but noticeable, almost painted on flowers. So, would you give them a shot?

I can certainly see these pants as an up and coming trend not this year but the next. To start with, finding these pants require the upmost patience as they will probably be expensive but sure to be worth it. Topshop is a good place to start as they are usually on top of the latest trends and really unique finds. From there on boutiques online, Etsy or Ebay can aid in finding vintage floral pants as well.

Since these pants can be quite the conversational piece of your outfit, wear basics. Basics are very near and dear to my heart as you can do so much with simple shirts of neutrals and whites. So it’s important to keep it simple with these pants and not overdo it; personally. If you have a different type of style try colors that match closely with the pants although too much color can really clash with the pants.

Basic shoes, basic shirts, basic accessories. Less is always more especially when it comes to floral pants. These pants already have so much personality and flair there really is no need in trying to pair another print or texture with these pants. Call me lazy but I really try to find clothes that are bolder so that way I don’t have to pair it with another amazing shirt or pants. For example with an eye catching shirt I’d wear it with skinny jeans or a solid color skirt. These small things compliment the statement piece and really put your outfit together.

Always keep an open mind and try clothes that are not your typical attire. Challenge yourself, more than likely you’ll love it!
