Let me just begin by saying that if you don’t know Kristin Horney, your life is not as good as it could be. This girl legitimately makes the world a better place just by being in it. She is smart, strong, selfless, and beautiful…on the inside and out. Guys, take notes, because she’s one you’re going to want to take home to Mama. Oh, and let’s also wish her the best of luck in her last swim meet ever this weekend!

Name:  Kristin Horney

Age: 21

Major: Nursing

Year: Senior

Hometown: Lake In The Hills, Illinois

Relationship Status: Fiercely Single

Favorite Food: Pizza has my heart

Typical Saturday Night: Steak and Shake then in my bed watching Netflix.

Nickname: Horney

Go To Fast Food Place: Portillo’s

Celebrity Crush: Tom Hardy is a beautiful, beautiful man.

Guilty Pleasure: Marvel movies…I was Thor for Halloween last year.

Her Campus ISU: If there was one word you had to pick to describe yourself what would it be?Kristin Horney: Amusing.

HC ISU: Your last name is Horney…how does that effect your everyday life?KH: It’s awesome. Everyone just calls me Horney. I get picked on a lot, but it is a conversation starter.

HC ISU: What are you involved in on campus?KH: Illinois State Swimming and Diving and SAAC

HC ISU: What are your plans after graduation? 5 years from now?KH: After graduation I will be working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago on the oncology unit, but before that happens I am studying abroad in Italy for three months! In five years I picture myself still living in Chicago working as a nurse. Maybe have a boyfriend, maybe not. I just plan on enjoying my life making good food in a cute apartment.

HC ISU: Do you have a bucket list? What’s on it?KH: I want to see the world. Go to every place that I can. I also want to make a difference as cliché as that sounds.

HC ISU: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?KH: Do everything in love.

HC ISU: Who has had the most influence in your life and why?KH: My mother. She is the most generous, fun loving, selfless, beautiful woman that I have ever known. The world is a better place because she is in it.

HC ISU: What’s the biggest thing you’ve had to overcome and how has it influenced your life today?KH: Definitely when I had to have shoulder surgery last year. It was a big blow to my ego, and trying to rehab for nine months took a toll on me. I never quite got back to as fast as I used to be in the pool, but I’ve finally learned to live with that, and I am proud of myself for getting to where I am today. I see it as a blessing now because I was able to fall in love with the sport again in a sense that I was doing it for now instead of aiming to be the best.

HC ISU: What’s your biggest pet peeve?KH: When people fart in a locked car.

HC ISU: What do you look for in a guy?KH: Honesty, smarts and someone who is willing to go the distance and most importantly someone who has a strong faith.

HC ISU: Tell us something not many people know about you.KH: I HATE when people sing to me.

HC ISU: What is the first attribute you look for when you’re first meeting a guy?KH: A quality sense of humor that can keep up with mine.

HC ISU: Biggest turn off? (Deal breaker)KH: Clingy boys and guys who are rude to others especially the waiter.

HC ISU: Biggest turn on? (Marry me)KH: Confidence but not egocentric…oh and a nice wardrobe.

HC ISU: Coolest date you’ve been on?KH: Skiing.

HC ISU: Worst date you’ve been on?KH: There’s just so many but probably the date where it wouldn’t end and he didn’t get the hint that I wasn’t feeling it and then he kissed me in front of my little brother.

HC ISU: Ideal Date?KH: Dinner in a garden at night with twinkly lights preferably somewhere in Europe

HC ISU: If you could tell guys one thing about getting to know you or dating in general, what would it be?KH: I’m pretty easy going and low maintenance so don’t be intimidated.
