Insomnia Cookies is a chain with many different locations, like Chicago and Champaign. In the beginning of the school year, it opened a location at ISU on 117 E. Beaufort St. in Normal.
There are three different ways to get a cookie. Stopping in and ordering, calling in, or ordering online. The only downside of stopping in is that there is nowhere to sit except the benches in Uptown or the tables outside Emack and Bolio’s; which usually isn’t a big deal in the summer, but since it’s getting colder, places to sit and eat are limited. Calling ahead is straightforward, and after you place your order they set up a “cookie tracker” online and you can see the different stages of your cookie delivery. It’s pretty cute, and then the delivery man walks right up to your door and delivers your cookies!
Insomnia Cookies offers twelve different cookies, including sugar, chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, and peanut butter. Among the twelve different flavors are three deluxe cookies, which are much larger. Insomnia also offers ice cream, cookie cakes, brownies, and cookie sandwiches. Cookies are served and delivered heated up and are melt-in-your-mouth good! And get this, they also serve milk, so you can literally have milk and cookies at any time you want and fuel your late night study session. Prices are reasonable, with a regular sized cookie being $1.35, deluxe cookies being $2.75, and a cookie sandwich for $5.00.
