When I was getting ready the other night, I had a thought cross my mind – how much is my makeup bag worth? Not the actual bag itself, but the contents of it. So, I did what any college student would do at an odd hour of the morning: I looked up the cost of everything in my makeup bag. And by everything, I mean all the brushes, actual makeup, primers, palettes, and tools that somehow all fit into my makeup bag (#makeupaddictinthemaking). I went on all the various store websites where I bought all the items that I currently own, and I wrote down the name and cost of the product. I have also written a sentence or two about what I like about the product and why I purchased them. So here you have it – the contents of my makeup bag:

Makeup

bareMinerals ‘Bahamas’ eye shadow: I love glitter, so this is my go to for when I want a simple glitter eye look! Cost: $15, available at bareMinerals and Macy’s; either online or in stores.

e.l.f. ‘Perfect Finish HD Powder’: This powder gets put on at the very end of my makeup routine to set my look. I also can apply it if I get oily, and it will absorb all the shine instantly! Cost: $6, available at CVS, Target or Walgreens; online or in stores.

Sephora ‘8 Hour Mattifying Compact Foundation’: This foundation lasts so long and matches my skin tone perfectly! Cost: $20, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Sephora ‘10 Hour Wear Perfection Liquid Foundation’: This foundation blends so well into my skin, it matches my skin color perfectly! Cost: $20, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Sephora ‘Bright Future Gel Serum (Sable 9)’ Concealer: This is the concealer that matches my skin tone, so it covers any imperfections perfectly. Cost: $14, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Sephora ‘Bright Future Color Correctors – Green’ Concealer: This helps cover up any redness that I have! Cost: $14, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Tarte ‘Lights, Camera, Splashes’ Waterproof Mascara: This waterproof mascara does not run no matter if I cry tears of sadness or joy! Cost: $21, available at Macy’s, Sephora or Ulta, online or in stores.

Urban Decay ‘Naked Basics’ Palette: I like this tiny palette because it is small, and has 6 basic natural colors that I can use to get the perfect eye look. Cost: $29, available at Macy’s, Sephora or Ulta; online or in stores.

Urban Decay ‘Naked2’ Palette: I love this because it gives me 12 different matte and glitter shades to choose from when I want to create an eye look! Cost: $54, available at Macy’s, Sephora, or Ulta; online or in stores.

e.l.f. ‘Total Face’ Brush: I use this brush to blend my foundation and blush together; and to apply finishing powder. This brush does both jobs perfectly! Cost: $2, available at CVS, Target or Walgreens; online or in stores.

Sephora ‘Eye Brush Set’: This set contains 5 brushes (cream shadow, small shadow, angled shadow, smudge, and angled liner) that help me achieve any eye look that I want to wear! Cost: $22, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Sephora ‘Lift Off Lash Comb’: This tool helps me separate my lashes after I put on my mascara and remove any clumps that I may have. This tool is a LIFESAVER! Cost: $10, available at Sephora, online or in stores.

Drumroll please…. the total comes out to: $382.50!!!

DO NOT be alarmed – I probably did not spend that actual amount of money! I am a sucker for sales and discounts, so I shop very smart. I wait until there is a sale or I have a coupon to purchase any items. I am a college student – any last penny counts! My mom also is a certified makeup addict, so some of the products that I have in my bag are hand-me-downs and items that she purchased and never opened. Serious perks. #blessup.

There you have it – my makeup bag costs a total of $382.50. How much is YOURS worth?
