Well, it’s time to get the six ladies who write for you! Get to know your Her Campus staff.
Megan Maginity
grew up in Lisle, the town next to Naperville, as everyone knows it to be. After writing for her high school newspaper, The North Star, she wanted to pursue her journalism talents to a new level at Illinois State University. Coming to ISU was the best decision she ever made. Megan discovered HerCampus from a friend during her sophomore year and fell in love instantly. She describes it as her “localized Cosmopolitan magazine”. All of her experience with The Daily Vidette and The ZOI was evident and she quickly became Editor-in-Chief of the ISU branch. While she’s not putting together articles or editing Her Campus, you can find her hanging out with friends, shopping at Gordmans, cooking food, rollerblading, or at the latest ISU Greek event. Lindsay Crosby
is from Park Forest, Illinois and is a sophomore majoring in Political Science. She has a strong interest in Fashion and loves giving advice to those who seek it. HerCampus allows her to give advice and insight on fashion trends along with practicing her writing skills. As well as write about topics that inspire her and work with girls who are nothing but helpful and awesome. She would love to travel the world and eat while get paid for it but no such thing is possible, sadly. Jokes are her forte and she is the queen of sarcasm. She currently has an obsession with Cristiano Ronaldo and dreams of meeting him. Black and white movies have a special place in her heart. Julie Florence
is a sophomore here at Illinois State and is hoping to major in Public Relations. She has been writing for as long as she can remember. While other students hated writing essays and giving speeches, Julie loved it. She is from Orland Park, Illinois and attended Carl Sandburg High school where she was involved in softball, prom committee and yearbook club. In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and rollerblading. A random fact about Julie is that she has a BIG sweet tooth and will never turn down dessert! She really enjoys looking up random recipes online and trying them out. One thing Julie really loves about being a contributing editor for HC is writing exciting news stories that she thinks the readers will be interested in. Nicole Carlson
is a sophomore Public Relations student from Elmhurst, IL. She fell in love with Her Campus last year when she came across an article about hooking up. She likes that HC is a publication with no restraints and that anything and everything is okay to talk about. Nicole sleeps and hangs out with friends in her free time and is always down for an adventure drive at midnight to Walmart and to get Polar Pops. Basically every conversation with her ends up on the topic of sex or weddings. She is also a member of PRSSA on campus and dreams of one day being a wedding planner. Read Nicole’s articles!
Ari Perez
was born in California but spent most of her life growing up in Batavia, IL. Because she was very involved in High School, she was very eager to become involved at ISU. She is now a sophomore Mass Media major, and wants to eventually work with television and broadcasting. She had never written published work until she became a writer for Her Campus. What Ari loves about Her Campus, is not only growing as a writer, but all the opportunities that come along with it. She loves working with the other contributing writers and her editor Megan. Her absolute favorite thing about Her Campus is what it stands for; it is all about women and real life situations that girls go through in college. A few interesting facts about Ari are that she is also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and currently lives in the house, she looks up to Ellen Degeneres and Bethenny Frankel because she loves powerful women, and she is obsessed with watching T.V. which is why she wants to have a career in it one day. Olivia Hook
is a junior communication studies major and writing minor. She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and PRSSA, as well as a writer for HerCampus.
