The time is slowly creeping upon us where us girls must make the switch from sandals to closed-toe shoes or boots. Adding along to the jackets are the boots that will give you some idea as to how to transition to colder weather.

UGGS

These are probably the most common pair of boots that I see on campus. They are incredibly warm and are made of sheep skin which may not go over well with animal lovers but it hasn’t deterred many. UGGS come in a variety of colors so I’m sure they’ll have your favorite!

Sperry Boat Shoe

These shoes have a certain look that screams sophistication. They can be dressed up without looking like you rolled out of bed (like most college students). Try not to hastily put these on with your Soffe shorts because you don’t want to “dress up” for class.

Floral Flats

I don’t really like the color pink, or flowers, but this dusty color is appealing because it’s not overpowering. Almost nude, this color can be a staple in a girl’s wardrobe because it’s versatile and can be worn for any occasion such as class or an interview.

Flat Boots

Besides the obvious comfort of the UGG boots, here is a practical flat boot that is fashionable. I’m sure you can make UGGS look cute but no one has proved it to me. Anyway this flat boot is very casual and will definitely protect your feet once it gets chilly.

Ladies, I have equipped you with jackets and footwear that won’t break the bank and are stylish. Love me yet? Hopefully so because there is more to come for fall and winter essentials on our beautiful college campus!

Illinois State

Megan is a sophomore Journalism major at Illinois State University, with a minor in Creative Writing. She balances her time between class, her sorority- Gamma Phi Beta, and writing for the college newspaper- The Daily Vidette. When she’s not busy, Meg likes to shop for the best sales, rollerblade, hang out with friends or watch reruns of Sex and The City. Becoming a campus correspondent/editor-in-chief was a great accomplishment for her because she is an aspiring writer, hoping to take on the world of mass media after graduation in 2013.
