Binge-watching has now been made easier than ever with streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. Sometimes it is all too easy to get trapped in the back-to-back episodes of your favorite show worm hole. If you have time to lay around, or just need some background noise while you’re doing homework, I have compiled the best shows to binge watch.

1. Shameless

The series is about a dysfunctional family of Frank Gallagher, a drunk single father raising six children. Set in Chicago, the children learn to take care of themselves with the help of some good friends, some bad friends, and some unfortunate events.

2. Grey’s Anatomy

This series focuses on the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attending physicians as they develop into seasoned doctors. The plot is surprisingly addictive with a blend of soap opera, drama, and comedy as the characters try to maintain personal lives and relationships. Plus, you won’t want to miss out on McDreamy himself, Dr. Shepherd.

Where to stream: Netflix & Hulu

3. The Office

The office depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of a paper company called Dunder Mifflin. To simulate the look of an actual documentary, the cast has one-on-one interviews and hilarious one-liners. Once you start you can’t stop, and you’ll end up watching every episode 3 times or more.

Where to stream: Netflix

4. Criminal Minds

Another police drama with an amazing spin. This series tells the story of a group of behavioral profilers who work for the FBI as members of the Behavior Analysis Unit. The team focus is on the profiling of the criminal, rather than just the crime. The show follows the team as they work through all different kinds of cases and tackle their personal issues. The show makes you fall in love with the characters all the while wanting to be a part of the FBI.

Where to stream: Netflix

5. Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has become a sure thing to talk about. Set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and the continent of Essos, the series chronicles violent struggles among the realm’s noble families. The series has the largest estimated ensemble cast. So, good luck keeping up with this one.

Where to stream: Hulu

6. Friends

Friends has well deserved its spot as one of the most popular television shows of all times. The hit sitcom depicts a group of friends comedic and romantic adventures and career issues. If you need more of an explanation, you have some research to do. This show should be at the top of everyone’s list.

7. Supernatural

This television drama is about the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, who are on a hunt to kill things that go “bump in the night”. The show centers around the brothers as they follow in their father’s footsteps through comedy and hard times as they fight supernatural beings of many kinds. Great show with even better characters.
