Bikini Wax- Two words put together that makes every woman want to cuss until there’s no tomorrow.

Whether you’re doing it yourself or getting it done, bikini waxes can be quite painful… and expensive! Before getting waxed, there are a few things every Collegiette should know about “down there” waxing.

For starters, there are different types, or styles, for the wax. Some spas consider Brazilian to be completely bald eagle, and some leave a small landing strip (which can also be called a French).
A bikini wax removes hair on the bikini line. Simple as that! Most traditional bikini waxes start at $35, Brazilians at $65. Prices depend on the spa.

Make it clear what you want to your waxer and you’ll be pleased with the results. Also, the waxer… well she’s seen it all so don’t be embarrassed or afraid to ask questions. She’ll put you at ease. Remember girls, she is a professional.

For that regular bikini wax, most spas will let you keep your underwear on, but some may offer you disposable panties. Before you make the situation awkward, it’s best to just keep everything on until you receive full instructions on what to wear (or not wear). No need to shed skin when it’s not necessary.

Oh, and the whole wax part… yeah, it hurts the first time. However, there is no need to be scared! If you let your hair grow too long between appointments, the worse the pain will be.
Take a pain reliever right beforehand and the sting will not be as bad. After several appointments, the pain eases. Also, most professionals strongly advise not to get waxed right before a special occasion or vacation because there may be some redness or bruising.

How long does it exactly last? Is it worth it? The answer is yes and/or no. After a 15-30 minute appointment, the wax will last differently for everyone due to different hair growth rates. There are also a ton of different products for post-waxing care.
