We all either know or are a broke college student right now. Always spending money on stuff that’s not really important but we swear at the moment it’s the most useful thing on the planet. Well I’m here to tell you two things: 1) Don’t stop doing that! Everyone deserves a little retail therapy now and again. 2) You can get the most essential things that you need for literally $1 at the dollar store. Here are things that are 100% available but you might not have known about.
- Garbage Bags

Why are you paying $3-4 for a pack of something that is literally being thrown away. The dollar store even carries Hefty brand and we all have seen those commercials so we know they’re good.
- Cooking Equipment

From personal experience, this stuff actually holds up. You can get anything from cookie sheets to spatulas and they look amazing for what you’re paying.
- Paper Towels

I will never buy paper towels anywhere else anymore. For only $1 you get a full roll of paper towels that lasts and works just like the ones from Walmart.
- Name brand food items

It’s obviously not as stocked as a Walmart or Target, but if you just want/need a quick snack or only a little bit of something then the dollar store is the perfect place for you.
- Nail polish / tools

Having your nails done is something that a lot of girls find pretty important. With Covid and the safety precautions that are in place, it can be hard to go get them done professionally. The dollar store has so much nail polish and tools to help you do your nails at home just like the pros.
- Party supplies

Forget party city. Don’t walk but RUN to the dollar store if you ever need balloons. First off they’re pretty cute balloons. Second, it’s only $1 for the balloon itself AND to get it filled with helium. WHAT A STEAL!
There is literally so much more that you could find there as well. Don’t hate on the dollar store just because it’s cheap. It’s an amazing way to get stuff that you actually do need like garbage bags for a really low price. Especially as college kids, ball on a budget and do yourself a favor and go to the dollar store!
