Halloween is just around the corner and college students are in a panic while trying to find this year’s costume(s). As the years continue there seems to be more and more do’s and don’t’s for Halloween attire. To give you a heads up, I put together a list of seven Halloween costumes that should be avoided. You don’t want to be THAT person at a party wearing THAT costume, right?
1. Ebola
Let’s be real here, Ebola is as serious as serious gets. Dressing in this type of costume could come off as offensive and freak some people out. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is saying that it is too soon to start joking about something that is currently killing people.
2. Frozen
Realistically, every girl between the ages of four to ten will be dressed as Princess Elsa this year. With that being said, do yourself a favor and try not to match your elementary aged neighbor. Even though you might wish that you were, you are not a four year old anymore… It’s okay, let it go.
3. Nicki Minaj
Your real butt probably won’t pull off this costume like Nicki’s silicone one can. Plus, mother probably wouldn’t be too excited about this Halloween theme. My advice to you: let Miss. Minaj take the cake on this one.
4. Anything Involving Balloons
This is stressful for everyone involved. Everywhere you go you will be popping and slowly, but surely, deflating. Do not let this one be an option; you will thank me later.
5. Disney Princess
This ruins every innocent childhood memory of the princesses we grew up with. There is no way Cinderella would wear something like this because Cinderella is a classy lady! Keep the memories and find a new costume!
6. Police Officer/ Fireman
Think, really think; how many people do you know that have used this costume at some point in their life? Been there, done that. Steer clear of this cliché idea and think of something new!
7. Hooter’s Girl
Add this to the same list that police officer and fireman are on. Being a Hooter’s girl is another overused idea that should not be utilized this Halloween. Also, believe it or not, this is actually what people wear to their place of employment. So, dressing up as this may not be the best idea.
