Keeping your hair healthy is such a struggle that many black women face. It’s hard finding the right products to use on your hair without drying it out or damaging it. Also, there are so many products to choose from and they all say they’re good for your hair. Below I’m going to list 5 tips and some products to help keep your hair healthy!

  1. Deep condition your hair!

This is honestly so important! This is a great way to strengthen your hair and keep it from being dry. You should do this at least once every two weeks and leave it in for about 30 minutes. After that you can rinse it out and continue to style your hair however you want! Some good products to use for this are the mielle babassu or OGX products. These are reasonably priced deep condition products.

Shampoos with sulfate in it drys out your hair really fast. The sulfate strips your hair of natural oils that are good for your hair. Nowadays many companies are making their shampoos sulfate free. Some good products are any of the Shea Moisture shampoos or OGX shampoos.

3. Take care of your hair at night               via: pinterest

This is actually one of the most important tips. Make sure you’re using a silk bonnet or scarf every night to protect your hair. Even sleeping on a silk pillowcase will help! This helps keep your hair moisturized. You can definitely find silk scarfs and pillow cases on amazon for a good price.

4. Moisturize your hair                                via: pinterest

Always keep your hair moisturized! Try to moisturize at least every night so that the oils can sit in your hair overnight. Some people with drier hair should moisturize their hair in the morning and at night. This prevents breakage and dry hair, pretty much any type of oil will work. For example, coconut oil is a great one or argan oil! You can find oils like these at any store.

5. Drink plenty of water                               via: pinterest

Now this may sound cliche but drinking water can really help keep your healthy! Some people say your suppose to drink half of your body weight. But if anything try to get a few cups in per day. You’ll be amazed by how much water actually helps your hair!

I hope these tips help you with your journey on keeping your hair healthy! Also, just because a product is expensive doesn’t mean that it works the best. Sometimes the cheapest products are actually the best.
