Spring into Some Fun in the Finger Lakes Region

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at HWS chapter.

Wiht the recent and inevitable freezing weather we can only hope for springtime! Check out these five fun things to look forward to in the spring!

1.     Visit Watkins Glen

Ready for a road trip? Drive 40 minutes alongside Seneca Lake towards Watkins Glen, and on the way, be sure to stop for a delicious hot dog and a graphic tee at the Weinery! Explore the walking paths along the gorges at Watkins Glen and enjoy some Ben & Jerry’s after your long, relaxing hike!

2.     Enjoy Delicious Guacamole in Canandaigua

Craving some delicious, reasonably priced Mexican food? Take a short trip to Canandaigua to Rio Tomatlan, where you can enjoy mouthwatering guacamole, burritos, and quesadillas! Canandaigua also has Simply Crepes Café, a quaint local café that serves crepes, wines, and offers a Sunday brunch buffet.

3.     Missing Freshens on campus? Go to Ithaca for shopping and smoothies!

Are you craving that peanut butter banana smoothie that the café no longer offers? Take another trip to Ithaca, where you can shop at Urban Outfitters and stop by College Town Bagels for delicious paninis and freshly made, customized smoothies.

4. Enjoy Bubble Tea by the Boathouse

Not ready for a road trip? Grab some bubble tea at the new Bubble Tea Café in Geneva and hang out by the boathouse to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. No other college campus has it this good.

5.     Take a stroll by Seneca Lake

As an HWS student, you must take advantage of the beautiful weather (when it finally arrives) and the lake. Stroll down by beautiful Seneca on the paths near the Ramada Geneva Lakefront, where you can stop in for a delicious brunch while enjoying the scenery.

As the spring approaches, be sure to find the opportunity to enjoy the sunny outdoor weather and take advantage of the delicious food, scenery, and fun that the Finger Lakes Region has to offer!
