It’s Brunch Time!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at HWS chapter.

Breakfast is my hands-down my favorite meal. But I’d be lying if I said I am often awake at the “appropriate” time to eat breakfast, and that’s why I’m so thankful that brunch is a thing. As a college student my weekends are dedicated to getting brunch Saturday and Sunday with all my friends, catching up from the previous week and the night before. So, as this is my third year living in Geneva, I think I’ve got a pretty good grasp on all the best brunch places in the surrounding area. Here are all the best places to go:

Connie’s Diner

This diner is located in Waterloo, NY, which is about a 15-20 minute drive (depending on how fast you drive) from campus. My dad has taught me to love diners from a very young age so I have a soft spot for most diners. This one especially is one of my favorites. You HAVE to try one of the milkshakes, trust me.

Water Street Cafe

Water Street is located about a five minute drive from campus and on the weekends this place will likely have a wait because of how many HWS students go here. This place has all your great stereotypical breakfast foods, but the prices here can not be beat (another thing that makes it popular with students).

Bagels and Cakes

While I love all brunch food, but bagels are definitely my favorite. They are perfect at any time of the day, and seeing that the word “bagel” is in the title of this establishment, you can usually find some pretty good ones here as well as an array of other breakfast favorites.

Simply Crepes

If you love crepes this is the place for you. Located in Canandaigua, another 20 minute drive from campus, that is SO beyond worth it.

Dunkin’ Donuts

I had to add Dunkin’ to the list because no matter what, I usually end up here every weekend to get my coffee that helps me power through the rest of the day. This is definitely my most frequented place for that quick on-the-go, pick-me-up that I need every weekend.
